You gotta love that feature. How long until somebody else matches it? GM has kind of done it but it’s not nearly as actively worked on. Pretty much every car has a few cameras on it these days.
This guy was found within hours and insurance already has somebody to hold liable. Still sucks to need a paint job that could easily screw the car up forever, but even just being able to see the whole thing play out must bring a lot of peace. I doubt Teslas are keyed at a much higher rate than other luxury vehicles, b ut they’re the only ones you have a chance of getting justice with.

I just can not fathom why you would key a car. If you want to hate something then either hate it peacefully or just go full tilt crowbar and publicly own the obvious idiocy . Keying is a cowards game...

Since when are Teslas luxury vehicles? Don’t they paint these things outside and strap iPads to the dash?

Most cars are keyed based on the actions of the people driving them, not the brand of vehicle.
Watched a Tesla nearly run over a coworker, then park across two handicapped spots as the owner exited a brewery a few weeks ago. Felt like keying the owner’s forehead.

That I would consider fair since everyone involved would own their fuckwittery.
The sort of keying portrayed here though is pure cowardice.

Coward’s game indeed, but I wonder what the driver did to set it off. Unless the keyer has some kind of mental difficulty , this probably wasn’t random.
Not sure if a 3 is a luxury vehicle, but many out there still see the brand as trendy, so there’s that.

I think they are now built in a dirt floor soddy running on a generator.

Well they’re certainly not priced like Toyotas. They may not be well-built or have great interior materials but to many people brisk acceleration, not having to visit the gas station, and having a huge touchscreen that gets remote updates is an equally valid form of luxury.

They certainly aren’t built like them either.
I think the same people that consider an Apple watch as luxurious think the same of a Tesla.

Both this guy and the lady that got busted like last week (both well into their middle age!) clearly had keyed before and definitely have some sort of mental problem.

I suppose in a society with a threadbare mental health network and unenviable healthcare system in general, it is surprising we don’t see more of this.
